Several compartments of this lovely rug hold a slender tree figure. On a terracotta field, a grid of diamond compartments holds stepped geometric figures in rust, cream and near-black. A beautiful cream hexagon with a cross-shaped figure anchors the lattice at the center, and several compartments hold a slender tree figure. The main border is gray beige, carrying bold geometric figures in near-black, red and plum. A dark brown guard band with a thin red dotted stripe runs inside it. The pile is low across much of the field, and the foundation shows through in patches at the center. It grounds a sitting area, the warm earth tones softening the geometric pattern. At 6'5" by 9'9", it fits a living room with the front legs of the sofa and chairs on the rug, or beside a queen bed.
