The long chain of brown hexagons and star medallions makes this an amazing rug. Brown hexagons and star medallions in cream and navy alternate down a deep red field in a long chain. Each hexagon holds a pale cross-shaped figure edged with hooked points, and tiny crosses and flowers fill the red between them. Navy side pieces with cream sawtooth edges step into the field at the corners and along both sides, carrying small flower sprays and a red and blue wing shape. Navy forms the main border, holding a row of small rosettes between orange guard stripes of tiny diamonds. Every figure keeps a crisp edge in a full, clean pile. It suits a long entry, the strong red leading while the beautiful cream stars catch the eye. At 3'8" by 13'3", it fits a hallway or the space along the side of a bed.
