A rose, red and cream herati lattice runs across the dark burgundy field of this amazing rug. Across a dark burgundy field runs a herati lattice, the fish-and-leaf lattice, worked in rose, red and cream. Cream diamonds step down the length at intervals, and the ground between the figures runs near black. The lattice meets the border directly, with no separate corner pieces. A red main border carries round rosettes with cream rims, set between dark brown guard bands holding tiny flowers and hourglass shapes, with a thin beaded guard inside them. The pile is deep and full all along the rug. It grounds a long hall, the burgundy giving depth at the center and the red border warming the edges. At 3'8" by 14'5", it fits a hallway or the space along the side of a bed.
