Scattered sprays of cream blossoms sit at two opposite corners of this charming rug. The muted pink field holds scattered sprays of cream blossoms and gray brown stems at two opposite corners, leaving the center open. No medallion anchors the design, so the graceful floral branches float against the pale ground. A full antique wash has left no color at strength, so the pink and cream share one warm level. The pile has thinned in a few patches, showing the foundation in the open areas. The muted pink ground mixes with brown accents to bring warmth to a room. At 4'9" by 8', it fits a bedroom beside the bed, a study under a desk, or a small sitting area.
Every rug we sell is one of a kind, and this is the only one like it. It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
About Isparta rugs
The state-owned Sumerbank took over the Isparta carpet factory in 1943 and backed carpet making by hand there with new technology. Until 2008 the Isparta carpet factory was still working, a center of the craft for a wide region. The workshops of Isparta, in the lake country of southwestern Turkey, made floral rugs with Persian influence and a Turkish palette of cream and rose. Floral sprays rest lightly on the open pink ground, giving the rug a gentle presence.

Returns & exchangesMade entirely by hand.
Every knot in this rug was tied by hand, one at a time, on an upright loom. A piece like this is the work of two or three weavers sitting side by side for months, wool worked row by row into a pattern carried from memory, its colors softened by decades of light and use. Nothing about it was quick, and no two are ever the same.
The kind of thing that only gets better with age, and quietly passes from one home to the next.
