An all-over floral repeat in cream and slate blue makes this a wonderful rug. Over a muted pink field, charming scrolling vines link cream rosettes and slate blue blossoms in an all-over repeat. No central medallion anchors the design, only this continuous floral lattice spreading across the open ground. A wide gray green border carries a chain of pale flower heads and curling leaves along the edge, with a dark band inside it. Full pile covers the face, and a dark inner band sets the field apart from the border. The soft rose and cool blue tones meet in an even balance across the face. At 5'5" by 9'1", it fits a bedroom beside the bed, a study under a desk, or a small sitting area.

It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
About Isparta rugs
In the first half of 1911 the busiest agent of the Oriental Carpet Manufacturers was in Isparta, where a single agency had about 25,294 square meters woven in homes. Isparta lies in the lake country of southwestern Turkey, where workshops through the twentieth century wove Persian-influenced floral designs in a distinctly Turkish palette. The palette is chalkier and softer, with more cream and rose than the deep madder of Persia. These are town rugs, not tribal ones, so the drawing is orderly and the field tends to read calm from across a room. This rug keeps the orderly floral repeat and warm tone of the region. Unlike the cream or ivory fields often seen in Isparta rugs, this muted pink ground sets a warm rose base under the cool slate blue drawing.

Orders are processed and shipped within one to four days and most arrive within about ten days, sometimes as fast as three depending on your location, carefully wrapped, with tracking sent the moment your rug leaves us.

Every knot in this rug was tied by hand, one at a time, on an upright loom. A piece like this is the work of two or three weavers sitting side by side for months, wool worked row by row into a pattern carried from memory, its colors softened by decades of light and use. Nothing about it was quick, and no two are ever the same.
The kind of thing that only gets better with age, and quietly passes from one home to the next.
