Green leaf sprays cover the muted pink field of this amazing rug. Green leaf sprays and teal blossoms repeat steadily across the muted pink field, covering the ground. Rows of small blue and pink flowers run between the bands of leaves, with lovely burgundy rosettes scattered through the design. The pattern fills the whole face and runs to the edges, with no border to frame it. The pile is low and evenly worn, with the ribbed foundation showing in places. The dense drawing holds the pale rose and green tones together while staying light. At 5'7" by 9'3", it fits a bedroom beside the bed, a study under a desk, or a small sitting area.

It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
About Isparta rugs
In 1943 the Isparta carpet factory passed to the state-owned Sumerbank, which backed carpet making by hand there with new technology. Isparta sits in the lake country of southwestern Turkey, and its workshops spent the twentieth century weaving Persian-influenced floral designs in a distinctly Turkish palette. That palette is softer and chalkier, with more cream and rose than the deep madder of Persia. These are town rugs rather than tribal ones, so the drawing is orderly and the field usually reads calm from across a room. This piece keeps that structured look in its grid of leaves and flowers. The continuous plan avoids a medallion, spreading the botanical elements over the pink base with no single focal point.

Shipping is free and fully insured in the US and Canada. To the UK, the European Union, Australia and New Zealand we ship fully insured, with rates calculated at checkout. Orders are processed and shipped within one to four days and most arrive within about ten days, sometimes as fast as three depending on your location, carefully wrapped, with tracking sent the moment your rug leaves us.

Every knot in this rug was tied by hand, one at a time, on an upright loom. A piece like this is the work of two or three weavers sitting side by side for months, wool worked row by row into a pattern carried from memory, its colors softened by decades of light and use. Nothing about it was quick, and no two are ever the same.
The kind of thing that only gets better with age, and quietly passes from one home to the next.
