Large sage palmettes sit near the four corners of the field. A wide main border, paler than the field, carries gorgeous brown palmettes and rosettes among small sage leaves, with a narrow sage stripe along its outer edge. A thin pale blue-green guard stripe with brown dashes runs inside it. A full antique wash, no color left at strength, has brought the rug to one soft warmth. The pile is worn low across the field, and the foundation shows through in places. The sage notes stay gentle against the rose. At 5'11" by 8'10", it fits a living room with the front legs of the sofa and chairs on the rug, or beside a queen bed.
