Rows of small figures, people and animals, cross the field of this lovely rug. The field is a tall gray brown lozenge with pointed ends, banded in soft stripes of blue and darker brown. The beautiful corner pieces outside the lozenge are tan, gray and blue, scattered with rust and brown dots. The cream and tan main border carries a row of diamonds in blue gray, gray brown and cream, inside a narrow blue and cream sawtooth guard. The pile is short, with the weave showing faintly. It sits well beside warm wood and linen, where the muted blues and browns hold back and the rust adds life. At 6'6" by 9'10", it fits a living room with the front legs of the sofa and chairs on the rug, or beside a queen bed.
