4064 · 2'9" x 10'8" Persian Kashmar Runner Rug

A garden scene of leaping deer, birds, cypress trees and flowering shrubs repeats across the cream field of this charming runner. Across a cream field, a garden scene repeats with leaping deer, birds, cypress trees and flowering shrubs in burgundy, blue and green. No central medallion breaks the vertical flow of these pictorial motifs. The gorgeous main border is brick red and pale blue, carrying dainty cream and burgundy scrolls and gold leaves along the length. A thin burgundy guard stripe sets the border off from the field. The pile is full over the face, keeping every small leaf and feather distinct. In a narrow passage, the busy drawing holds the eye as you walk past. At 2'9" by 10'8", it fits a hallway or the space along the side of a bed.

Every rug we sell is one of a kind, and this is the only one like it. It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
