A winged, hooked shape closes each end of this wonderful runner. Beautiful stepped star medallions run down the middle of an ivory field, with small flowers, hooked figures and tiny squares filling the ground around them. Dark burgundy and navy stars with red cores mostly alternate with winged, hooked shapes that carry striped wings, and one of those shapes closes each end. A crimson main border runs with cream and pale blue serrated leaves and small brown rosettes. A narrow navy guard stripe holds tiny multicolored flowers and sets the border off from the ground. The pile is sound, and the ivory ground still reads bright. It suits a narrow hall, where the red frame gives the length a clear edge and the ivory lifts the light. At 2'7" by 12'10", it fits a hallway or the space along the side of a bed.
