A central cream medallion sits in the pale green field of this lovely rug. Small sprays of rose blossoms scatter across the pale green field, around a gorgeous central cream medallion. This lobed diamond holds a cluster of orange flowers and sends small pendants toward the top and bottom. Cream spandrels fill the four corners with charming curling vines and orange flowers, and a banded oval of orange and cream frames the field. Its border sits on a sage green ground, with large orange rosettes along the sides. A cream guard band and a thin cream outer edge enclose the border. Low spots of pile appear across the field, where the weave shows. Soft green and warm orange share the surface without weighing it down. At 5'10" by 10'6", it fits a bedroom beside the bed, a study under a desk, or a small sitting area.

About Manisa rugs
Almost every household in Demirci, a district of Manisa, has been known to keep a carpet loom. Manisa lies inland from the Aegean coast, and its weaving sits between two traditions. You find the geometric medallions of Anatolian village work and the softer floral borders of the western workshops in the same rug. The palette leans warm and faded: cream, dusty rose, muted greens. Manisa pieces were made for houses rather than for export, so the sizes are practical. This rug keeps that mix of a lobed medallion and loose floral sprays on the open ground. Orange accents rest inside the oval against the pale green field.

Shipping is free and fully insured in the US and Canada. To the UK, the European Union, Australia and New Zealand we ship fully insured, with rates calculated at checkout. Orders are processed and shipped within one to four days and most arrive within about ten days, sometimes as fast as three depending on your location, carefully wrapped, with tracking sent the moment your rug leaves us.

Every knot in this rug was tied by hand, one at a time, on an upright loom. A piece like this is the work of two or three weavers sitting side by side for months, wool worked row by row into a pattern carried from memory, its colors softened by decades of light and use. Nothing about it was quick, and no two are ever the same.
The kind of thing that only gets better with age, and quietly passes from one home to the next.
