3735 · 7'6" x 11'1" Persian Arak Oversized Rug

An amazing star medallion lies in the middle of a deep red field. Across a deep red field, curling vines carry cream blossoms and small blue leaves in a dense repeat. A star medallion at the center holds a cream core of red and black flowers inside a violet frame. A delicate blue and ochre palmette drops from the top and rises from the bottom. Gorgeous cream and coral spandrels sit in the field’s upper and lower corners, worked with floral sprays. Near-black carries the main border, with red scrolls, cream outlines, ochre palmettes and small blue leaves. Cream bands with small red hearts and a thin blue line lie on both sides. The pile is full throughout. It anchors a sitting area, the cream spandrels easing the weight of so much red. At 7'6" by 11'1", it fits a dining table for four with the chairs pulled out, or a living room with the sofa and chairs fully on it.

Every rug we sell is one of a kind, and this is the only one like it. It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
