On a field darker than navy, near-black with a burgundy cast, rows of small red boteh repeat in a tight lattice, each teardrop tipped with cream and pale blue. No central medallion breaks the pattern, as the motif covers the ground from edge to edge in an all-over plan. The dense drawing continues into the corners with no spandrels of its own. A splendid camel main border holds geometric birds and hooked shapes in terracotta, navy and brown. Thin guard stripes with a zigzag pattern in dark brown and red flank the border on either side. Pile is full over the face, keeping the small motifs sharp. It holds a steady rhythm down a long hall, where the deep ground lets the red notes glow. At 4' by 11'8", it fits a hallway or the space along the side of a bed.
