6x10 Vintage Rugs

Vintage Persian and Turkish rugs measuring roughly 6x10 feet. A large area rug for an open living space.

Turkish rugs from Isparta and Manisa make up most of this size, and Kashan leads the smaller Persian group. Cream fields are the most common, with dusty rose and deep red next.

Each 6x10 is one of a kind, about fifty years old and hand-knotted, and was professionally cleaned before going on sale. Village looms leave every rug a little different from its nominal size, which is why the exact feet, inches and centimeters appear on each listing.

Insured shipping is free to the US and Canada, and if the rug is not right you have seven days to return it (fourteen in the European Union).

Where a 6x10 rug works

A 6x10 takes a sofa, two chairs and a coffee table with the front legs on the rug. In a bedroom, laid crosswise under a queen bed, it reaches well past both sides of the mattress.

Our living room rugs and bedroom rugs pages include this size as well, and the rug size for a queen bed helps with the bedroom layout.

What you will find in this size

Turkish weaving accounts for most 6x10 rugs, chiefly from Isparta and Manisa, while Kashan heads the Persian minority. For the story behind each, see the Isparta guide, the Manisa guide and the Kashan guide.

Before it arrives

Lay a thin pad under a 6x10 before the furniture goes back; our rug pad guide explains which kind to buy. Insured delivery to the US and Canada is free, and shipping and returns covers the policy in full.
