3x7 Vintage Rugs
Vintage rugs measuring roughly 3x7 feet, almost all of them Persian: short hall runners.
Baluch rugs lead this size clearly, with Mahal and Zanjan well behind. Most of these runners have a deep red or burgundy ground.
Every rug here exists once, hand-knotted about fifty years ago and washed by professionals we have relied on for years before listing. Since the knotting was done by hand, a 3x7 can be a little longer, shorter, wider or narrower than its name. Look at the rug’s page for its measured size in feet and inches, followed by centimeters.
Shipping is free within the US and Canada and fully insured, and you can return a rug within seven days (fourteen in the European Union).

Where a 3x7 rug works
A 3x7 is a short runner: a galley kitchen, a mudroom or a hall that is too short for anything longer. It also works across the foot of a bed.
Where else to look
Rugs this size are also in our hallway and entry rugs and kitchen rugs. Measuring a hall first? Choosing the right runner length walks through it.
Shorter and longer runners
For a hall where 3x7 is close but not quite right, compare the shorter 3x6 rugs and the longer 3x9 rugs. All our long, narrow pieces are under runners, and the size guide gives measurements for hallways and other rooms.
Origins of these runners
Almost all 3x7 rugs here are Persian, and the names that come up most often are Baluch, Mahal and Zanjan. Read the Baluch guide, the Mahal guide and the Zanjan guide to see how their designs compare.
Keeping it in place
A runner on a smooth floor tends to wander, so a thin pad underneath is a good idea; our rug pad guide lays out the types. Every 3x7 ships free with insurance to the US and Canada, and shipping and returns lists the terms.
