All of Our Rugs
Every rug at Storied Rugs is a genuine one‑of‑a‑kind, hand‑knotted decades ago in Persia or Anatolia, professionally cleaned and restored, and shipped free and fully insured across North America. This is the full collection: thousands of vintage pieces in every size, color, palette and region, each photographed in natural light so the rug you see is the rug that arrives.
Because no two are alike, browsing is part of the pleasure. Filter by size, color, price or origin to narrow things down, or simply scroll and let a piece find you. When a rug sells it is gone for good, so if something speaks to you, it is worth acting on.
All of our vintage rugs, in one place
This is the complete Storied Rugs collection, every hand‑knotted, naturally dyed vintage piece we currently have, gathered on a single page. Some were woven in the great Persian city workshops of Tabriz, Kashan and Mashhad; others come from the villages and tribal weavers of Heriz, Hamedan and Bakhtiari, or from the kilim and Anatolian traditions of Turkey. What they share is authenticity: real wool, real age, and the small irregularities that only a handmade rug carries. Every piece has been cleaned and restored by hand and is ready to live with.
How to shop the full collection
With thousands of one‑of‑a‑kind rugs to browse, the filters are your friend. Use them to move quickly from the whole collection to the handful of pieces that actually suit your room. Most people start with size, then narrow by color or budget.
- By size, from small accent rugs and runners to generous area rugs and oversized statement pieces.
- By color, madder reds, indigo blues, soft neutrals, greens and multicolor palettes.
- By price, including plenty of pieces under $500, right up to rare collector rugs.
- By origin, Persian city and village weaves alongside Turkish and Anatolian pieces.
Finding the right size
Size is where most rug decisions are won or lost. In a living room, aim for a rug large enough that the front legs of your sofa and chairs rest on it, this ties the seating together and makes the space feel intentional. Under a dining table, allow at least 60 cm of rug beyond the table on every side so chairs stay on the rug when pulled out. In hallways and kitchens, a runner that leaves a small margin of floor on each side looks far more considered than one crammed wall to wall. Every listing includes exact dimensions in both feet and inches, so you can measure your space before you commit.
Color, pattern and how pieces age
Because these rugs are colored with natural dyes, madder root, indigo, walnut husk and pomegranate, their tones shift gently across the pile and deepen with age. That subtle variation, known as abrash, is one of the most prized qualities in an antique rug and the reason older pieces feel so alive underfoot. A vintage rug is also remarkably forgiving in a busy home: the pattern hides everyday wear, and wool’s natural lanolin resists spills far better than most modern floor coverings.
Craft, origin and authenticity
Each rug is knotted entirely by hand, one knot at a time, on a loom, a process that can take many months for a single large piece. That construction is what lets a good rug last a century or more, growing softer and more characterful rather than wearing out. Where we know a rug’s origin and approximate age, it is noted on the product page along with material, pile and condition, so you always know exactly what you are buying.
Shipping, returns and care
Every order ships free and fully insured across North America, carefully rolled and packaged to arrive in perfect condition. If a rug is not right for your space, our returns are handled personally within the stated window. Caring for your rug is simple: vacuum gently, rotate it a couple of times a year for even wear, blot spills promptly with cold water, and keep it out of harsh direct sun. Treated kindly, a vintage rug bought today can easily outlast every trend and pass to the next room, or the next generation.
A living, changing collection
Because each rug is unique and we add freshly restored pieces every week, this page is never quite the same twice. If you have a size, color or region in mind, use the filters to set it and check back, and when you find the one that feels like yours, remember there is only ever one of it.
