How new arrivals reach the site
New arrivals are the vintage and antique rugs most recently added to the collection, and this page is where every one of them begins. Nothing goes up straight from a shipping crate. Each rug is sourced abroad, brought in, hand-washed, restored where it needs it, then photographed in our own studio before it appears here. By the time you see a piece it is clean, sound and ready to ship, which is why the newest listings are also the fullest, most current view of everything we hold.
Why the good ones do not wait
Every rug we sell is the only one of its kind, so stock behaves nothing like it does in an ordinary shop. When an unusual size, a rare color or an exceptional piece of weaving lands, it frequently sells within days, and there is no reordering it once it has gone. Filter straight to your dimensions so you are only weighing rugs that will actually fit, measuring first saves a great deal of second-guessing. What honest photography means here
However new a rug is to the site, the studio approach never bends to flatter it. Each piece is shot in daylight, laid flat, with any low pile, old repair or gentle irregularity shown plainly instead of edited away. A vintage rug that has lived forty to eighty years will carry a little of that history, and we would rather you see it now than be surprised by it later. The color on your screen is the color that arrives, and the corner that dips slightly in the photograph is the corner that dips at your door. That candour is what lets you buy a rug you have never stood on with real confidence.
First rug, or the next in a collection
New arrivals suit two very different shoppers equally well. If this is your first hand-knotted rug, the fresh listings are the easiest place to compare origins, sizes and palettes without the strongest pieces already spoken for. If you have been collecting for years, this is where the scarce sizes and unusual weaves surface first, before they are noticed. How often is this page updated?
New pieces are added every week, in batches as they come out of cleaning and restoration. There is no fixed day for it, so it is worth looking in regularly rather than waiting for a set time.
If a rug sells, will something like it come back?
Not the same rug. Because each piece is unique, we can never restock an exact one. We may later find something comparable in size or color, but the specific rug in front of you is the only one there is.
Can I reserve a new arrival while I decide?
Often, yes. Get in touch about the piece you have your eye on and we will let you know whether we can hold it while you check measurements or colors at home.
